Accommodation for self-guided hikers & cyclists
If you’re looking at our self-guided portfolio, we’d like you to know that your overnight lodgings have, or are a short walk from, a restaurant. In fact, this is one of the building blocks of our self-guided itineraries.
Many hiking companies see accommodation as simply a box to tick. We don’t. At MTW, the character of your accommodation is part of the fabric of your trip. A great illustration of this dates from MTW’s first itinerary, Heart of the Italian Alps. Imagine you’ve had three increasingly demanding days of hiking, culminating in hike three, which has 1700m of altitude gain and 1000m of descending.
On tired legs you arrive at the exquisite Relais Mont Blanc, pictured, where you can slip into the luxury of the pool, bar, restaurant, spa, massage rooms – and then there’s that moment of delight when you remember you have a whole rest day and another night here, before the trail takes you onward to Courmayeur and Mont Blanc.
