“Dear Partners,
We are pleased to inform you that the first grapes of the vintage 2024, for the production of our Classic Method sparkling wine, have been harvested at Les Cretes.
The 2024 growing season was generally characterized by high rainfall, which continued until the first week of July. We have worked hard in the vineyards to prevent the spread of pathogens such as downy mildew, which this year found ideal conditions to develop even in the noramlly dry Valle D’Aosta.
Do to the challenging conditions, the overall production might be lower (10-20%) compared last year but the grapes harvested are expected to be exceptionally healthy and of high quality.
The harvest of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes has just begun, as they have reached the ideal level of ripeness and freshness for sparkling wine production.
We are confident that the pronounced difference in temperature between daytime and nightime (+16*/ + 31-32*) typical condition of our region during the fall season combined with dry wheather will guarantee grapes of excellent complexity.
For sure the next weeks will give us a better understanding of the result of this harvest.
Giulio & Charrere Family”
