These picture-postcard towns, in the shadow of Mont Blanc, have Medieval origins. They give their name to the Valle d’Aosta DOC sub-zone of Blanc de Morgex et de La Salle.
Morgex is the larger of the two and boasts what is believed to be the region’s oldest church, Santa Maria Assunta. It is believed to have its origins in the Paleochristian period of the fifth century AD.
La Salle, meanwhile, enjoys a higher position with views across pastures and vineyards to Mont Blanc.
