• The island of Sardegna’s nuraghic culture was created in the Bronze Age, and therefore predates even the arrival of the Phoenicians.

The iconic architecture of the Nuraghic peoples are the Nuraghi, collections of towers constructed in collections to form community dwellings, defensive towers and storage buildings.

Remarkably, there are over 8000 such locations throughout Sardegna, with some areas – notably the Valle dei Nuraghi – especially densely covered.  However, only around 100 have been recovered and turned into visitable attractions.

MTW customers discover the Nuraghi and Nuragic culture on our Northern Sardinia accompanied trip. Enquire for details.
