Italy’s longest river has its source on the side of Monviso, very close to the French border, and disgorges into the Adriatic near Venice. As such it almost cuts Italy in two!
The source, some way up the mountain and with the last 500m accessible only on foot, is a popular spot for visitors. MTW customers on our “Liberty” tour have the chance to visit the source an to enjoy one of Cinzia’s legendary picnics at its site (weather permitting…).
