Historic, tile-roofed Alba is the gateway to the Langhe wine regions, with their noble appellations of Barolo DOCG and Barbaresco DOCG. As well as wine – famous even at the time Pliny the Elder was writing – it is the world’s top destination for truffles – and most prestigiously the white truffle of Alba.
